Creator Hopes Season 3 Will Let Him Erase 'Regret' of the Manga "Attack on Titan"

Attack on Titan creator, Hajime Isayama, says the third season of the anime will give him a do-over of sorts of the corresponding manga volumes.

Comicbook.com reports that in an interview included in the Blu-ray box-set of season 2, Isayama expressed his disappointment with the volumes of the manga that season 3 of the anime, announced last year, will be based on.

"After writing Volume 12, in the period between 13 and 16 was when I felt the most disappointed with my work,” he said. “Hopefully, now that season 3 is being made, I’ll have the chance to wipe away that regret and replace it with something I’m proud of.”

These volumes, and the subsequent third season, focus on the Uprising story arc, with the violence predominately between humans, and it gets rather brutal.

A compilation movie of Attack on Titan: Season 2, called The Roar of Awakening, released in Japan earlier this year. The second season run had only 12 episodes, making it half as long as season 1, which had 25.

There's no word yet on how many episodes we'll see in season 3, but the anime is scheduled to drop in July.
